The United States Postal Service is the US national mail carrier, handling letters and parcels including Priority, First-Class, and Ground Advantage. Domestic tracking updates at acceptance, processing, and delivery scans; international parcels switch to the destination post once they leave the US.
How to track USPS
- Copy the USPS tracking number from your receipt, label, or order email.
- Paste it into the tracker at the top of this page and press Track — we auto-detect that it's USPS.
- View the acceptance, transit, and out-for-delivery scans returned from USPS.
- For doorstep delivery, optionally sign up for USPS Informed Delivery to see mailpiece previews.
💡 Good to know
- Cheaper USPS services scan less frequently, so long gaps between updates are normal and not a sign of a lost package.
- Outbound international items show as "Departed" once they leave the US, then go quiet until the destination country scans them.
- "Delivered" scans occasionally post a few hours before the parcel actually arrives at the door.
USPS tracking FAQ
How long does USPS take to deliver?
Priority Mail is 1-3 business days, Ground Advantage is 2-5 days, and First-Class Mail is 1-5 days domestically.
Why hasn't my USPS tracking updated in days?
Lower-cost mail classes and items in transit between facilities may not scan for several days. If there's no movement for a week, file a help request with USPS.
What does 'In Transit, Arriving Late' mean?
USPS uses this status when a parcel has missed its expected delivery date but is still moving through the network.
Does USPS deliver on weekends?
USPS delivers Priority Mail and many packages on Saturday, and Priority Mail Express and Amazon packages can arrive on Sunday.
Tracking stuck or not updating?
Carrier scans can pause for a day or two in transit or customs without anything being wrong. See why a package stops moving, or paste your number above to refresh the latest events.
